Arnold Schwarzenegger, Who Nearly Lost His Life Due to Heart Issues, Details His Recovery Period to Inspire Millions: “Wrote Down My Goals in My Hospital Room”

Despite being one of the fittest athletes of his time, Arnold Schwarzenegger has gone through a couple of health issues. However, Schwarzenegger never stood back; he always came back stronger. Based on his experiences, he likes to share the lessons learned with millions of people through his newsletter. In the latest edition of his newsletter, Schwarzenegger answered a few select questions from Reddit in the Q&A session.

One of the fans appreciated the motivation Arnold extends through his words. He began the session with “Hi! This newsletter is awesome and thoroughly enjoying it daily!” While answering to one of fan questions, Schwarzenegger took one of his inspirational tales about a low point in his life. Here’s what he said.

In the latest edition of Arnold’s Pump Club, one of the fans shared his comeback story followed by a question. The fan suffered a serious neck injury a few years ago and was told by the doctors that the chances of recovery were thin. However, they didn’t take that for an answer and decided to prove the doctors wrong. And they did exactly that. Further, he asked, “During your career did you have confront a hurdle physically or otherwise that you knew was going to be take lots of work to overcome but you pushed through?”

Remembering the time when he was admitted to the hospital for a heart problem, Schwarzenegger shared a his story. He said, “The key is that you set smaller goals. You still need goals. You still need a routine.”

While recalling the days he spent in the hospital, Arnold wrote, “I wrote down my goals in my hospital room to walk around the nurse station and do my breathing exercises and I put a tally up every time.”

He further added, “You need to have the mission in front of you, even if it isn’t big, and you mark it off every single day no matter what, until one day the daily goals can grow.”

Emulating the same strategy in life, even though the Austrian might have taken one step at a time, his glorious career is proof of how he went leaps and bounds to achieve what he had set his mind to.
