Bodybuilding Icon Chris Bumstead Once Described His Favorite Character From a $10 Billion Worth Anime Franchise: “Was Literally Exiled From His Village”

Being a successful bodybuilder requires a lot of things, apart from a physical workout. An endearing personality and good choices can go a long way. Chris Bumstead is an example of a current bodybuilding legend. His fans love him and love to interact with them. Bumstead’s struggles and stories have also inspired many, while many look up to the icon.

Recently, Bumstead answered a fan question that might have been a welcoming surprise. A fan asked the icon to choose his favorite character from a popular anime franchise.

Chris Bumstead chooses his favorite Naruto character

Naruto is a popular anime franchise, which is one of the famous Anime franchises, and has amassed over $10 billion since its released. Each character from the anime series chiefly possessed a unique backstory that would unfold simultaneously with the plot. With a storyline so compelling and characters so intriguing, many are bound to be a fan and Chris Bumstead is one of them. Therefore, when one of his fans asked him to choose his favorite character, the bodybuilder chose ‘Itachi’ in a heartbeat.

According to the anime, Itachi was an unpopular shinobi/ninja amongst the masses. Despite his initial image, however, he still makes it to fans’ favorites list due to his backstory. Chris explains, “He was literally exiled from his village, had everybody f**king hate his guts…all along, he was doing the best thing to protect his village”.

The bodybuilding champion also gave his wise definition of a ninja. He pointed out that a true ninja wouldn’t chase fame or fortune, but would protect their village. Bumstead expressed how he fell in love with the character after he learned the backstory. It matched his ideals and definition of what a ninja should be like. Therefore, he chose Itachi as his favorite among all the other characters of Naruto.

Whether we talk of ninjas and bodybuilders, we can definitely draw some commonalities from this anecdote. Just like a ninja, a bodybuilder is also dedicated to their position. And while we can’t compare the two, we can definitely agree that Bumstead’s choice is widely approved.
