The Arnold Classic 2023 is about to wrap up on a sweet note. During its two-day run, there were a lot of iconic moments that made viewers and fans experience a roller coaster of emotions. One of those moments came in when the legendary bodybuilding prodigy, Flex Wheeler received the lifetime achievement award. 

The reverent stage of the Classic competitions celebrated the journey of the legend by taking the spectators and fans through Wheeler’s iconic vocation in the bodybuilding universe. Now, receiving the honor of one of the most prestigious accolades rendered the 57-year-old champion emotional.

After winning the lifetime achievement award at the Arnold Classic 2023, Wheeler expressed his heartfelt gratitude toward his fans and made a heart-touching confession. The 57-year-old stated, “I don’t want any of you guys to feel sorry for me for anything that I’ve done or went through or going through or will go through because, with every one of those steps, I would not be here standing.”

The 4x Arnold Classic champion added, “Everything that I’ve done wrong, everything that I’ve done right, all of it led me to the man that I am and I am thankful for all of it.” The champion then shared some beautiful lines of Jackie Robinson, the former American Baseball player. The bodybuilder said, “There is so much I want to say but I’ll leave it at this. In the words of the great Jackie Robinson, I was built for this.

Expressing his gratitude towards the 7x Mr. Olympia champion Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Sultan of symmetry asserted, “I’ve never won an Olympia but I have the honor of this man here calling me one of the greatest of all time and that’s better than anything”. In the end, Wheeler conceded with everything that led him to this day by saying, “God truly wants me to last.” It was one of the most heart-touching moments of Arnold Classic 2023.
