Phil Heath is a name that needs no introduction when it comes to bodybuilding. He is a seven-time Mr. Olympia winner, having won it every year from 2011 to 2017. Heath once shared his interesting diet plan.

Phil Heath tied the record of seven Mr. Olympia wins with Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2017. They both are just behind Ronnie Coleman and Lee Haney, who hold 8 Mr. Olympia wins each. Heath’s physique is considered one of the most well-balanced physiques of all time.

Phil Heath opened up about how fat is not always bad

Heath shared his interesting tailor-made diet plan in an interview. Talking about his off-season look, he said, “My job title is Professional Bodybuilder, so I feel I should look like one not just for a couple of weeks out of the year but for the whole year.”

Heath then spoke about body fat. He said, “When I’m too heavy, I just feel slow and lethargic. A little bodyfat is a good thing for the extra energy it gives you in the gym, but too much of it and I feel like a slob.” Understandably, he does not like adding unnecessary body fat just to look big and bulky.

He also shared how he likes to look the best throughout the year and not just during competitions. As part of his diet, he used to have egg whites, vegetables, rice, fish, and chicken. Heath used to have pre-decided timings for having specific food items.

Heath was once a basketball player!

Phil Heath was born in Seattle, Washington, and used to attend Rainier Beach High School. He was the team captain and shooting guard on the varsity basketball team. Heath has also played basketball for his university. He used to play shooting guard for the university’s Division 1 basketball team.
