A recent footage shows a Florida woman—Nashali Alma—who is a 24-year-old bodybuilder working out when a random person approached her with all the wrong intentions. The attacker, later identified as Xavier Thomas-Jones, was soon seen chasing her around the gym space. While resisting, the NPC Wellness competitor pushed the man which eventually led to a brawl in her attempt to save herself from the attack. Alma didn’t give up defending herself and finally managed to tire him out.

Later, in an interview, the Tampa lady shared how she didn’t lose strength throughout the violent confrontation. Indeed, her story can inspire women to build strong defense skills in order to protect themselves from such ugly incidents. Here is the rundown of the horrible turn of events.

The woman fought the offender in the gym

She was doing her regular exercises when a man knocked on the door. While being aware of the intentions, Alma opened the door. But little did she know what awaited her. The man rushed to her in an attempt to touch her without her consent. Startled by his actions, she was quick to resist and beat him to defend herself. While giving an interview to Inside Edition about this, she shared, “As soon as he was approaching me, I pushed him and I said, ‘Bro, what the f**k are you doing? Get away from me. Stop trying to touch me.’ He started chasing me around the bench and we ended up on the other side of the gym”.

The suspect held her to the ground. However, she was finally able to free herself from his clutches and made a quick escape outside. Alma immediately dialed 911 and called for help as she implied, “It’s better to reach out to law enforcement sooner than later. The sooner they have the information, the sooner they can catch that person.” Reportedly, the authorities took the convict into custody and charged him with assault, burglary, and kidnapping. The official handle of HSCO Sheriff shared her story on Twitter soon after to bring more visibility to her message for fellow women.

As soon as the story was live on Twitter, people praised the Tampa lady for her bravery. Thankfully, her skills as a bodybuilder saved her from the catastrophe. She also shared a beautiful message, “As long as you fight back and show him that you’re strong and you’re not giving up, I believe it’s possible to escape.”

The sheriff who was in charge appreciated her cause and said, “I was disgusted by the suspect’s actions, how he preyed on this young woman. This woman’s strength, courage, and determination are inspiring. I know that her bravery to share this story will impact the lives of many other women.”
