Following surgery at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, where a disk was removed, this unforeseen incident marked the end of his bull riding career. Despite this setback, Mauney conveyed gratitude towards the medical team and pledged to commence rehabilitation. The injury occurred after being thrown off by Arctic Assassin from Sankey Pro Rodeo and Phenom Genetics at an Xtreme Bulls competition.
