Even though Kimzey was a seven-time World Champion, injuries plagued him throughout the 2023 season, threatening to ruin what could have been an incredible season. But in the middle of the storms, the bull riding phenomenon received support from Alexis, his wife, and their young son Steele.

Never the one to shy away from being candid about sharing his journey, the man returned to the grounds, making his ninth NFR appearance. Ending this year on a sweet note, the rodeo sensation shared a thoughtful note for his wife.

Bull Riding champion exits 2023 as a romantic
Kimzey and his wife often turn heads with their touching notes capturing the depth of their relationship. This time Kimzey has a special reason to post a gorgeously edited photo of the couple in a mid-kiss moment as he held her chin gently. He captioned it, “Happiest of birthdays to one of the the sweetest humans I’ve ever had the pleasure of being around. @alexisbloomertv you are incredible. My rock, my soulmate, my lil A. I love you.”

However, not long ago Alexis confirmed that the couple had not yet had a blowout, but she alluded to possible changes due to the approaching arrival of their next child. Digging deeper into their relationship as parents, Kimzey disclosed a rule set by his wife: changing at least one diaper every day. And she gives me the worst one every time he added, showing what their relationship truly looks like on a normal day.

Sage also celebrated his victorious triumph at the NFR with an amazing 92-point performance, and shared his happiness on Instagram. Steele, Kimzey’s son, and his wife took center stage in the engrossing video, revealing the motivation behind the family man’s success.

Sage Kimzey’s career highlights this year
Kimzey finished the year ranked No. 10 in the PRCA World Standings, but by August, he had risen as high as No. 4. Among Kimzey’s most memorable moments of 2023 was his outstanding performance at the George Paul Memorial Xtreme Bull Riding in Texas, where he won the Average and earned $17,082 after scoring a 90.5-point ride in the first round.

At the Reno Rodeo Xtreme Bulls, he took second place with a score of 166.5 points on two heads, making him one of only two riders to win both rounds. His dominance was further cemented by notable back-to-back 90+ point rides during Cowboy Christmas.
