Renowned American Brand Bestows Honors Upon Bull Riding ‘Legend’ J.B. Mauney in Latest Update

J.B. Mauney is at the pinnacle of his bull-riding vocation. The 36-year-old had 97 90-point rides with a Ride percentage of 52 spanning 1,320 attempts, and won 48 events in total. However, though his career highlights a hoard full of accolades, he also had some severe injuries that he recovered from. On the same note, the bull riding star got rendered with a serious injury, which required surgery to remove a disk, called time on his bull riding career in September this year.

J.B. Mauney broke his neck at the Lewiston Roundup in Idaho. A week after the incident, following successful surgery, Mauney announced his retirement. Following his retirement, on the tenth night of the Wrangler NFR, Mauney was honored by the Western Special Events Marketing man Jeff Chadwick and cowboy artist Chance Hays.

Wrangler Western shared a clip of the occasion via Instagram. They captioned the reel as, “Honoring a legend. On night 10 of the Wrangler NFR, we honored J.B. Mauney for the impact he’s had on the entire Western industry.” The announcer used the following words, J. B. Mauney. Joined by his wife Samantha, son Jagger. Joining him on the dirt tonight, Western Special Events Marketing man Jeff Chadwick, and cowboy artist Chance Hays.

The adjoining caption also termed J.B. Mauney the greatest of all time in his chosen vocation. He was the PBR world champion in the years 2013 and 2015. In both years, his earnings crossed the million-dollar mark. Mauney was honored in the presence of his wife, Samantha, and son, Jagger. He received a pair of keepsakes that he will surely cherish.

Commemorative gifts given to the bull riding icon

J.B. Mauney received a commemorative painting from Chance Hays. He also got his hands on a signed guitar from singer George Thorogood. The latter’s hit ‘Bad to the Bone’ was playing in the background in that clip. In the words of the announcer, Tonight, Wrangler honors JB’s retirement with a commemorative painting from Chance Hays and a signed guitar from George Thorogood & The Destroyers as he says, JB, you are bad to the bone, baby.

Both Wrangler and the announcer wished the bull riding phenom the best for the next chapter of his life. Another announcer said, Very nicely done. On behalf of the entire Western industry, we say thank you, JB, and mean it.”
