A young up-and-coming bull riding star crash-landed in one of the most brutal ways. The 21-year-old known for quickly climbing up the rankings entered the grounds of the classic event to make a big run. However, right when he had found his rhythm, things went south, and they went south fast.

Top bull-riding star Casey Roberts of Alabama got into a brutal accident while competing at the PBR Manchester event. While things started on a good foot, they ended up under a wrong one. A social media post captured the vicious encounter as the 21-year-old got struck with a heavy blow.

Another futile attempt at the bull-riding sensation

Professional Bull Riders (PBR) tweeted a video on its official X account that had captured the nasty accident of Casey Roberts. The tweet carried the caption, “It started off good for Casey Roberts… But then, it ended BAD.”

The footage showcased Roberts’ bull galloping in position when he suddenly slipped from its back. While the 21-year-old showed lightning-fast reflexes, the momentum of his bull was faster by mere fractions of a second. However, this slight delay resulted in a monstrous headshot to Roberts.

The video showcased bullfighters coming to the rescue of Roberts as soon as his bull-riding attempt failed. But, while the 43rd-ranked rider got up on his own, his skull made heavy contact with the bull’s rear hoof. Although Roberts seemed fine and walked away on his own before the video ended, his stats took a harder hit than his head.

With his failed bull-riding attempt on 15 December at PBR Manchester, this was his fourth failure in his last five tries. His previous attempt on 10 November saw him fail at the PBR Tucson event as well. This is quite a slump in the young rider’s career, especially when he had made headlines for a flashy 88-point ride not too long ago.

The ups and downs in the career of Casey Roberts

Casey Roberts has 26 successful rides to his name, out of which, his most recent stunner came at the Oklahoma Freedom event in Nashville. Roberts scored a whopping 88 points off his ride and gave his team a great head start on the opening day of the event.

Roberts also has a 90-point ride under his belt and really loves bull riding. In fact, his X bio says Bull rider, Bronc rider, Heeler. Love rodeo life.” However, the repeated defeats are disheartening, since bull riders don’t pocket even a single dollar from failed rides. Will the 43rd-ranker improve his stats as the 2024 season progresses?
