Everyone knows Magnus Carlsen, the world chess champion. However, do you know Magnus Carlsen, the wordsmith? Well, if you happen to see any of his banters or his posts on social media, you would realize how good the Norwegian Grand Master is with words.

The world chess champion never loses an opportunity to be witty and creative and once again, he proved his quirky prowess with words. Magnus came up with a perfect reply to the South African international chess master, Jesse February’s question on Twitter. Jesse posted, “Chess-related pick-up lines. Go!” While everyone was busy thinking about the perfect reply, Magnus wrote, “Hi. My name is Magnus Carlsen.”

In a way, it was definitely a perfect pick line. Surely, the name Magnus Carlsen is enough to do the trick, given that he is the best in the world for almost a decade now. Though the statement also means the level of confidence Magnus is currently functioning at.

Furthermore, he is giving hints about a possible retirement from chess, but there haven’t been any official announcements yet.
