In the Australian Open semi-final against Stefanos Tsitsipas, he engaged in a heated argument with the chair umpire Jaume Campistol and was fined $12,000 by Tennis Australia.

After the match, he said, “I regret it all the time because I don’t think it’s nice. I know that every referee is trying to do their best.”
