Are you not entertained??!! Or presumably, that’s what Shaun White would’ve been saying after his clutch 2nd run to qualify to the Olympic finals in Beijing in 2022.
The snowboarding star had the nation on the edge of their seat as he took an unfortunate fall in his first run. But with everything on the line for his second, White delivered. Pulling an unbelievable combination across the half-pipe, White declared that he was not done yet.
And qualifying for the finals aside, he really did give the audience a show. White is now in his 5th Olympic finals, and he will attempt to bid the sport adieu with a medal around his neck. Here’s a look back at how fans reacted to his insane qualifying run.

The Animal, as he is known by some of his fans, tapped into something primal to deliver on that run. He had an unfortunate fall on his first and with everything relying on his second qualifying run; he delivered and how!
White put up a near-perfect Flow?combination of moves on his descent that had most fans screaming for their form. But what added to the intrigue and fun of the whole set-up was likely the unsuccessful first run too. Luckily enough, it seems to have ended favorably for White and becomes a story in Olympic history.
The initial reactions
The first runs concluded with White having a fall. And people were under tremendous pressure when it came to the 2nd runs for the athletes.

And truthfully, who would’ve been able to put together this run? At his last Olympics, at age 35, with the world watching and after a fall on his 1st run?

Shaun White has definitely done so much for snowboarding over his career. And maybe a medal is fated to hang around his neck as he exits his final Olympics. Considering the form he is in right now, not many would put a podium past the athlete right now.
