The two first met in the early 20s during a game. Both of them were in the audience, with Lance sitting behind Matthew. The actor shared that when the host of the game spotted them and introduced them to the crowd; the audience started clapping for them.

According to the actor, while it was just loud cheers and claps for him, the crowd went ballistic when the host introduced Armstrong. The actor further added Lance’s reaction, which in turn led to the start of their amazing friendship.
