Tour De France is considered one of the most difficult sporting events across the globe. It’s a dream for many to be the first one to finish the line at this event. Lance Armstrong dominated the sport for seven consecutive years. It made him a godly figure in the sporting industry around the world during that time. His stardom gave him certain privileges that others did not possess.

The whole world knows about the demise of Lance Armstrong’s career. The former superstar was found guilty in the doping case. But before the truth came out, Lance’s fame and power made him superior to the laws as well. Floyd Landis, the former American cyclist, once revealed some shocking incidents.

Lance Armstrong did not have to show a passport to enter the flight

In an interview with Graham Bensinger, Floyd said that Lance Armstrong was free from particular rules and regulations. Lance didn’t have to abide by many rules that are compulsory for any other citizen. He said, “a lot of rules didn’t apply to him“.

He further described an incident when Lance was allowed to go to the plane without seeing his passport. “He(custom officer) said I need your passport and He(Lance) said we don’t do that here, he allowed us to walk and we kept walking ”, Floyd said in that interview.

The forward cyclist also added one incident when Lance got furious as he was fined for breaking a law. Floyd added, “he was very proud that he would be pulled over, but will never get a ticket”. Lance got very upset after this incident. “He was very furious if someone had dinner to give him the ticket, “, he described.

Lance flew with drugs in his bag

Lance built a celebrity-like reputation from his work. People all around the continent would acknowledge him. Hence, he was getting added privilege, which eased his task of traveling with drugs. Floyd told Graham,” the fact that he flew with drugs in a bag didn’t feel like much trouble to him“. When the customs guy looked into the bag, they got suspicious and asked Lance a few questions.

However, when the officers were told those were vitamins, they easily believed him and let him go. Floyd said that such an incident might sound risky, but since he had the facilities, it wasn’t much of a risk for Lance Armstrong. And it wasn’t just Lance’s overconfidence, but a reality to some extent.
