Cycling ace Lance Armstrong, who is well known for winning the coveted Tour de France seven times consecutively, once got a standing ovation from the crowd. Matthew McConaughey shared more details about the incident.

Lance Armstrong is a cycling legend who created history by winning consecutive titles. His consecutive wins in the Tour de France from 1999 to 2005 made headlines around the world.

Lance Armstrong got a standing ovation!

Having a conversation during the podcast, Lance Armstrong and his friend Matthew McConaughey once recalled how the crowd went crazy when Armstrong’s name was taken on the stage. Describing the incident, McConaughey said, “They introduced Matthew McConaughey and the crowd claps and cheers.”

McConaughey shared how the crowd clapped for him. However, moving further, he shared how the crowd went crazy when Lance Armstrong went up the stage. He said, “and then they introduced Lance Armstrong and the crowd just stands up, standing ovation, just roars up through and just overwhelming.”

During the early 2000s, Armstrong had a strong interest in politics. He even hinted at running for the governor of Texas. His friendship with former president George W. Bush has always made headlines. Apparently, his friendship with the president had made some people believe that Armstrong would enter politics, but that didn’t happen. Later, he announced that he had changed his mind about politics.
