

Lance Armstrong was once a sporting icon. Lance ruled the sport of cycling and won the Tour de France seven times in a row from 1999 to 2005. The cycling world unanimously considers Tour de France the most arduous race in cycling. However, Lance won it after recovering from testicular cancer. Armstrong faced doping allegations as early as 1999 but denied using PEDs.

In 2012, Lance’s legendary career crumbled after the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) found Lance had used PEDs. The governing body of the Tour de France stripped Lance of his seven titles. In 2011, Lance’s former teammate revealed how the cyclist had a habit of breaking the law. Landis also explained how Lance reacted after once being penalized for it.
How Lance Armstrong reacted
In 2011, Floyd Landis appeared on “In Depth with Graham Bensinger”. The former cyclist and Lance Armstrong’s former teammate revealed many details about Lance. Landis told how Lance would often break traffic rules while driving. He also said the cycling legend felt he would never get penalized for it. However, when he finally got a ticket, Lance became furious.

“He’s proud of the fact that he would get pulled over all the time for breaking the law and never get a ticket.” Landis told Bensinger. “I remember him getting really, really angry one time, because he actually got a ticket in Austin.” said Floyd. He also revealed Lance was furious not because he got caught but because “someone had the nerve to get him the ticket.”

Armstrong’s former team also shared another incident where Lance didn’t respect the authorities. Once, both athletes and their families were about to board a flight. However, Lance walked past the customs officer without giving a glance. “The guy said, hey I need your passport. He (Lance Armstrong) said no; we don’t do that.”

“The guy noticed who he was, and he said okay, you guys could go.” added Landis. He also said, “That’s how it was for Lance.”

Tour de France record before cancer diagnosis
Lance returned after beating cancer and won his first Tour de France in 1999. However, before his testicular cancer diagnosis, Lance never won a Tour de France.

The American’s best in 1993 Armstrong won a stage at the competition, and in 1995, he finished the race for the first time. Although Armstrong won a stage, he finished 36th.
