Dave Portnoy loves himself a good banter. Days after taking a dig at the Ohio Buckeyes for considering recruiting ex-Michigan staffer Connor Stallion, the Barstool Sports owner is back at it again. This time, Portnoy targets the Buckeyes’ head coach Ryan Day for a hilarious mixup during the match between Texas and Oklahoma State Cowboys. At half-time, the Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway challenge gave birth to a jarring controversy, and Portnoy couldn’t miss the opportunity to slander the Buckeyes once again.

Dave Portnoy targets the Buckeyes again
In his post on X, Dave Portnoy wrote, “Ryan Day and the Buckeyes are protesting again!“. Hinting at the counting error allegation made by the Ohio Buckeyes, Dave couldn’t stop being amused by their recurring contention against foul play. “Never their own fault“, chimed Portnoy in his post.

During the halftime of the match between the Longhorns and the Cowboys, the Dr Pepper challenge pitted Ryan Georgian from the University of Pennsylvania and Gavin White from Ohio State against each other. Each student had to throw as many footballs as they could in their designated bins. Both were tied at the end of the scheduled period, forcing the challenge into overtime. In the end, the Pennsylvania freshman won the competition amidst allegations of a mistake from the referee.

Even though Georgian hooped 5 balls, the final count showed his point as 6, declaring him the winner over the Buckeyes junior. Naturally, the final verdict didn’t sit well with the Ohio fans and they targeted the Big 12 referees. However, Portnoy seems to have had enough of the Buckeyes’ complaints and thinks they need to sort their heads out.

Portnoy has his hands full
The Michigan Wolverines aren’t the only team that’s causing severe headaches to Portnoy right now. His decision to support the Cincinnati Bengals isn’t panning out as he’d hoped for, and he was furious after his massive gambling loss after the Bengals’ defeat to the Baltimore Ravens. His bet on the Duke Blue Devils also fumbled thanks to a resolute performance by the Arkansas Razorbacks a few days ago.
Under such circumstances, it’s viable that Portnoy is looking to vent his frustration elsewhere. However, he probably wants to Wolverines and the Bengals to turn on their heels more than anything else at this point.
