Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy has taken up betting again, six days after he announced he had given up after suffering a significant loss on the Bills vs. Eagles NFL game. Notably, his gambling addiction contributed to Portnoy’s 2004 bankruptcy declaration. However, this time he is pushing himself to the limit once more owning to his faith in the Wolverines for the forthcoming Rose Bowl game.

The 46-year-old is all in on the impending College Football Playoff game this time. The businessman, who attended the University of Michigan, is quite certain that his alma institution will soar in the game.

Dave Portnoy Excited For Rose Bowl Game

The College Football Playoff schedule is scheduled for Monday, January 1, and Portnoy is betting money on Alabama and informed his followers of the news via a tweet. He read his proclamation with a literary flair in front of a romantically decorated glass full of red roses and a Nike football bearing the ‘M’ emblem. “Roses are red, Violets are Blue, I just put a million cash on Michigan on the rose bowl how about you,” he recited.

Alabama’s dominance over then-No. 1 Georgia in the SEC championship game demonstrated that they are a flawed but developing team. One of the best quarterbacks in the country, Jalen Milroe, will attack downfield against a Michigan secondary that is lead by Mike Sainristil, a player who is known for producing touchdowns.

Closer look into David Portnoy’s new bet

Michigan has progressed to the College Football Playoff semifinals the last two years as the Big Ten champion. After falling to Georgia in the 2021 campaign’s playoffs, the Wolverines unexpectedly fell to TCU in 2022. This season, in the Buffalo Bills’ defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles, Dave Portnoy lost an unknown wager. The creator of Barstool said he was done with gambling as a result of this defeat. But he might be about to suffer another severe setback.
