Dave Portnoy can’t catch a break right now! His latest hopes have crumbled and the businessman is facing yet another loss. The Cincinnati Bengals failed to get back to winning as the Baltimore Ravens thrashed the former 34-20. The Bengals are once again firmly rooted to the bottom of the AFC North table while the Ravens lead with 8 wins. Ahead of the match, Portnoy had shared the massive bet he put on the Bengals, hoping they’d bring fortune his way.

However, things weren’t all too glistening as the Bengals were left red-faced after the Ravens sealed their top spot. Portnoy’s exasperation couldn’t be veiled and he took to social media to make his feelings clear.

The Bengals’ loss means Dave Portnoy’s $120,000 wager was just rendered meaningless. Moments after the match, Portnoy got on X (previously known as Twitter) with a clenched face to share how his latest investment made him feel. QB Joe Burrow had to make a leave between the match with a wrist injury, and this will only add to the misery of the team (and Portnoy’s!) for the rest of the season.

This bet wasn’t fair“, wrote Portnoy in his post. Days ago, after the Cincinnati team’s defeat to the Houston Texans made Portnoy think his cheers jinxed the Bengals’ winning streak. It looks like the unfortunate phase is yet to come to an end as Dave isn’t all chirpy about his financial loss.

Ever since Tom Brady left the New England Patriots, Portnoy’s favorite team has been on a downward slope. With only two games won and a harsh eight losses, the Patriots are struggling to get their mojo back. Under such grim circumstances, Portnoy revealed that he’ll be rooting for the Cincinnati Bengals. And yet, good fortune eluded him once again.

Portnoy’s misfortune doesn’t end with the Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals aren’t the only thing that’s making the days harder for the Barstool Sports owner. The Michigan Wolverines are fighting a legal battle with the Big Ten conference against its suspension decision. However, Portnoy’s alma mater isn’t looking like having a good chance at winning and the prospect of their departure from the conference isn’t sitting well with the businessman.
