I’ve just worked and worked and worked,“, revealed Cathleen in the interview, highlighting it wasn’t an easy journey for her without the money to support her dreams in the first days of her FEI career.

Revealing the heart-touching reality, she went on to saying, “Since I’ve been little, I’ve known I want to ride at the top, be on teams, go to the Olympics. However, it was hard for me to find a path as I didn’t have the money to buy the horses myself, and it’s difficult in the US to find owners and programmes that will bring along a young rider who can’t pay. It’s easy to feel discouraged seeing others rise to the top quicker.” Her interview caught the attention of Bill Gates’ daughter who believes Driscoll’s story is nothing short of inspirational.

Jennifer shared Cathleen’s achievements with the caption that reads, “…we need more opportunities for younger up-and-coming riders who don’t come from ultra high net worth families to get experience and exposure“. Jennifer also mentioned that it’s high time the sponsors understand why it’s necessary to extend support “…especially to female” equestrian athletes to help the sport be more accessible to more fans. Jennifer’s support of the Longines’ 60th-ranked rider is the latest incident in her aim to make the world a more just place for everyone.
