Boyd Exell shares his musings post phenomenal World Cup victory

The official Instagram handle of Fédération Equestre Internationale, the global governing body for equestrian sport took to release the exclusive interview with Boyd Exell. Through its handle, @fei_global, it posted the clip with the caption. “Focused. I get more focused; the more pressure, the more focused I get.”  These are the words of Exell as he establishes how he made his comeback after a slow start in the basic round. In the drive-off, he started second but handled the pressure well enough to get a fast lap in 126.57 seconds.


The caption further added, “@boydexell is certainly one for the books! The outstanding Aussie has done it again, taking out yet another leg of the FEI Driving World Cup in sensational style! 🇦🇺.” While Bram Chardon (NED) offered tough competition, he made it to the finish line 1.73 behind Boyd.

The clip dwells on Exell’s views as he talks about “his impressive team and how they all work together to keep those wins coming!.” Exell acknowledges that he has a great team of people, whether on the ground, or at home.

Talking about them, he adds, “The team is really smooth. We put a substitution in, the left-wheeler was Poker who is 19 years old, and he was fantastic tonight.  Every stride, we had to work hard to get the speed and when Bram did a really fast round, we had to go full risk through the number one cone.”

In the video, he conceded “I’ve got a great team of people around me; it’s a full team, driving sport. So, I’m really pleased – it’s a great feeling!”

Exell’s fierce competitive spirit made him chase one of the biggest victories of his career, bringing a phenomenal end to the year 2023.
