Equestrian victories must be celebrated by giving a treat to your horse. Horse rider Amy Bowers did just that. She promised a chicken dinner to her winning mare, Annie, using the victory phrase, “Winner winner chicken dinner”. It’s another thing that horses normally do not eat meat or chicken. Thus, Annie will probably be given a nice stack of hay. The beautiful light brown mare won the first position at the dressage event organized by Redefined Equestrian LLC.

Annie’s first win

Amy wrote in her note for her triumphant mare: “Winner winner chicken dinner! Annie finished her first event with a fantastic cross country round finishing the weekend on our dressage score putting us into first place. This mare did a lot of learning and growing this weekend and I couldn’t be prouder of her.”

She added a heart emoji to express her appreciation and love for her mare. Amy also thanked Redefined Equestrian LLC for hosting “another show to our small but mighty area”. The happiness of the young rider was quite clear from the pictures as her mare had a dream run on the grounds.

Interestingly, just a day ago, Annie had finished second in another race. Amy hared a reel from the event, captioning it as, “Annie rocking around her first recognized event.” She further expressed that she was “pleased with how Annie did” at the event, even in temperatures of a “crisp 33 degrees”.

Annie scored a neat 28.8 for second place in the earlier race which was duly praised by her rider. She also appreciated the brown-colored mare for doing well in spite of an error on the rider’s part, which had cost them two points.

A horse has its moods

Rider Amy also posted a cute video of Annie a few days ago, where she is saying that she listens to her mare. “Unpopular opinion. Your horses opinion matters the most (sic),” said Amy in the reel. In the video, Annie is doing her own thing and not following the rules. Animals have their own moods and one should let them be, especially in practice time.

It is heartwarming to see Amy Bowers take care of her mare in this manner. She not only trains her well, but also looks into her moods and behavior to know what she could want. The brown-hued beauty is just starting out professionally and will need all the encouragement from her owner, who must be more like a friend to her. Isn’t it a wonderful bond between horse and rider?
