Drag racing and bull riding have always been on two opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to adventure sports. But, recently, the gap between the two sports has started to close with an unexpected collaboration. In a surprising turn of events, a 59-year-old famed drag racer has announced a partnership deal with the PBR.

Scott Palmer, also called The People’s Champ, was chosen for this deal because his values are closely aligned with the PBR. This unprecedented partnership aims to bring together the adrenaline-fueled excitement of drag racing and the raw intensity of bull riding. However, both parties involved are taking things slow to give the fans of the individual sports time to adjust. But above all, it represents the respect that exists within the world of extreme sports.

Andrew Giangola, employed at PBR as the Vice President of Strategic Communications, spoke to Drag Illustrated, saying, “We are so proud Scott is displaying the PBR brand”. We will get the first glimpse of this partnership at the Summit Racing Equipment PDRA ProStars race on July 22. Palmer’s car will feature the 2023 PBR Teams logo as he blazes through the racecourse at the legendary Cheyenne Frontier Days race scheduled for July 24-25. This is a special event in the annual Drag racing calendar and is called “the Daddy of ‘Em All”.

The excitement will reach new heights when Palmer competes in the Menards NHRA Nationals, brandishing the PBR Teams logo. It will mark the official launch of the partnership between the Top Fuel and PBR Teams. With the anticipation and curiosity surrounding the specifics of the collaboration, the drag racer revealed, “The deal is for whatever I want to do”.

The PBR has given free rein to Palmer to explore various opportunities. He also expressed his gratitude stating, “I’ve always been a PBR fan”. Palmer’s partnership is an exciting opportunity for both the Top Fuel and PBR Teams to cross-promote and reach new audiences.
