“Honor to Join This Program”: Former Student-Athlete Goes Candid on New Equestrian Journey Years After Achieving Big Feat

The equestrian world is filled with several fabulous riders and trainers. However, every equestrian had their own starting points where they constantly moved around to get more experienced and skilled. Taking another step in her journey, this young equestrian recently joined Oklahoma State University (OSU).

Alle Durkin is a rising young equestrian talent who just took another big stride in her career. Durkin has a decorated record and looks forward to working and learning at Oklahoma State University. She expressed her joy at joining the esteemed body to further her skills and her career.

Alle Durkin joins equestrian body as assistant coach

The equestrian body hired Alle Durkin for the 2023-24 season as an assistant coach. Larry Sanchez, the head coach of Oklahoma State, released the news on 10th August 2023. Sanchez praised his latest recruit and said“She is driven, smart, and a very hard worker.” He emphasized that OSU needed an assistant coach for quite some time now. Sanchez expressed his trust in Durkin and said he believed she would make a valuable asset to the Oklahoma Cowgirl family. Alle Durkin expressed her delight at joining OSU.

“It’s an honor to join this program,” said Durkin. She said that Oklahoma State University has excellent staff and jockeys and has all the amenities needed for the sport. Durkin said she is ecstatic about her recruitment and is eager to see the results she’ll produce with the team this season and in the future.

Alle Durkin earned her way into the Oklahoma State body after landing an impressive feat. She contributed to the victory of Texas A&M at the 2022 NCEA Reserve national championship. Durkin earned the triumph for her team as a jumping seat rider. In fact, Durkin has received the direct tutelage of several leading equestrians.

New roads and new responsibilities

Alle Durkin will be working with OSU coach Carter Anderson. She will join as the second assistant coach jumping seat alongside Anderson, who is a second-year coach. Durkin carries the experience of training under several equestrian giants. She has had the privilege of getting the tutelage of Kevin Babington, Kenny Langmeier, and Linda Langmeier. She gained invaluable experience in equine management activities and business. Apart from management skills, Durkin also picked up the skill of training several top-level horses and caring for them.

Durkin is a native of Massachusetts and has a formidable background in both riding and training. In fact, the young equestrian also won the Distinguished Team Leader Award from Texas A&M last season. This proves that Larry Sanchez scored the perfect candidate for the improvement of all the cowgirls at OSU.
