The United States has produced some of the finest global sportspersons in every sport. There are just a handful of sports that don’t have Americans taking the top spots. The same pattern is followed in equestrian events. However, Europe is a strong rival of America when things are dealt with on horseback. For the fifth time, the Grade 1 Saratoga Derby Invitational will become the battleground for both sides.

The Hall of Famer has trained Far Bridge, the winner of the Belmont Derby. Rookie racehorse English Channel and Kitten’s Joy will also make excellent additions to the US team. The equestrian trainer has trained all three racehorses and is confident in their ability to leave the Europeans in the dust. Apart from keeping the score, all sides will also try to win the contest to get their hands on a fantastic prize.

High-stakes intercontinental rivalry

The international rivalry between the three nations isn’t just a matter of pride. A victory at the Saratoga Derby would mean a direct ticket to a Group 1 equestrian event. The Cox Plate worth $AUD 5 million will automatically accept the victor as a participant. They have scheduled the highly valuable event to take place on 28th October 2023. Moreover, the Saratoga Derby Invitational also functions as the second leg of a very significant invitational sophomore event series.
