On the 21st of September 2023, Jockey David Cabrera had an unfortunate accident where he suffered from a broken femur. He fell at the Remington Park. His agent Jose Santos Jr. updated after the accident that he will be undergoing surgery to repair the break on the 22nd of September. Fortunately, the equine he was riding on was safe.

Recently, after the surgery, Santos has again shared an update on his Twitter account. He informed Cabrera’s fandom that the jockey was out of surgery and it was a success. There was a slight crack on his hip. He portrayed how grateful he was for everyone’s prayers. He expressed, “David is out of surgery and alert. The surgery was a success. The surgeon also found a small crack in his hip that they anticipate will heal prior to his femur.” 

He further added, “We would like to extend a massive thank you to all who have reached out. The road to recovery starts now. He will be back.” With this post, David Cabrera’s fandom took a sigh of relief and cannot wait to see him back on his toes. They have showered the jockey with their immense love.
