Nathan Chen has become somewhat of a household name after the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. The Olympic champion is currently enrolled at Yale, pursuing a statistics and data science major.

Back in 2018, Teen Vogue published an interview with the skating sensation, digging up all the little nuggets of his life. Here, Nathan Chen revealed his favorite celebrity as the actor who plays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, Emma Watson.

“I love Emma Watson. She’s amazing. Also, I’m a huge fan of Harry Potter so that helps,” Chen said. Not only is Watson his favorite actor, but also his celebrity crush! How do we know that? Well, his answer to three consecutive questions was just one name. His favorite celeb. celebrity crush, and the one famous person he would invite to watch him at the Olympics.

The three-time World Champion claimed that if there was any celebrity he wished would watch him perform at the Olympics, it would be Emma Watson. This interview took place right before the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics, where Chen performed a historic six-quad free program.

Chen shared many tidbits about his life

Nathan Chen reiterated his celeb crush on Emma Watson when he talked with Us Weekly, along with many other little facts about himself. He shared his love for all Marvel and DC comic movies and how, before competitions, he loves to listen to Eminem to boost himself up.

When he gets the time to watch TV, which we assume didn’t happen a lot before his break, the skater said he loves watching shows like ‘Scrubs’, ‘Parks and Rec’, and ‘How I Met Your Mother’. Chen also claimed that if he wasn’t a figure skater, he would have just been a regular student.

He fulfilled his dream of becoming an Olympian in 2018 and an Olympic Champion in 2022. To train for the Beijing Olympics, Chen took two years off school to focus on his training. Now that he has achieved his goal of winning gold, Chen is all geared up to return to school and spend his remaining two years at Yale as a regular student.

The question of whether we will see Chen return after he graduates remains unanswered. Depending on his condition at that time, Chen will decide whether he wants to return to the competition or not. Till then, we hope he has a fruitful college life.
