Gymnastics legend, Simone Biles, has been on hiatus since the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In the meantime, she has been focusing on her mental health, getting the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and becoming a Wheaties champion. Oh, and she also got engaged to NFL safety, Jonathan Owens, who she’s been dating since 2020.

When the gymnastics G.O.A.T. first met the footballer, he had no clue about her fame. But they meshed well together right off the bat, and earlier this year, Owens proposed to Biles. They’ve set the wedding date for sometime next year.

Simone Biles reveals what makes them compatible

Talking to TODAY in 2021, Simone Biles gushed about her fiance Jonathan Owens, who plays safety for the Houston Texans. The two met online during the pandemic, and now, they can’t stay away from each other. Biles revealed the many things they have in common.

“We have a great time together. Our personalities match right up. We have the same sense of humor. And he’s just great,” she said. Of course, with both of them in sporting careers, there are things they just get about one another. “He’s an athlete too, so we really understand each other and I think that’s why our relationship has been seamless.”

According to Biles, there is another thing that makes them the perfect match. “And he also has a bulldog, so I feel like, besides him being a cherry on top, that was really amazing. And our dogs get along well,” she added. Since they announced their relationship, the couple has not shied away from flaunting their relationship in public.

What Biles has revealed about their wedding so far

With their wedding planning underway, Biles and Owens have offered sneak peeks into what’s coming next year on the big day. They have planned to tie the knot in the 2023 off-season for Owens, but they have not revealed a definite date to the public. 

Biles revealed they have even decided on a venue. It’ll take place on a beach! Just a month after getting engaged, Biles found her wedding dress and the reception outfit. The wedding will carry a gold, white, and champagne theme, with the couple’s honeymoon destination set in Bora Bora. 

In February this year, during an Instagram live broadcast, they opened the discussion about kids. “So I want two kids, he always says he wants a football team, but he usually says three,” Biles revealed while Owens signaled for three in the background. “We’ll see,” the gymnast concluded.
