“Grandma Is Stronger”: 92-Year-Old Gymnast’s Resurfaced, Unbelievable Skills Leaves Sports World in Frenzy

A 97-year-old German gymnast named Johanna Quaas inspired millions with her amazing gymnastics performance in Berlin, Germany. Acknowledged as the world’s oldest gymnast by the Guinness Book of World Records, Quaas proved how age cannot stop one from achieving dreams. The Hohenmölsen native began competing in gymnastics contests after the age of 55. Retiring from competitive gymnastics in 2018, the athlete continues to inspire fans with her incredible feats on Instagram. Recently, a video that shows Johanna Quaas performing in bars at the age of 92 which resurfaced on the Olympics Instagram handle left fans amazed.
This video was a comparison of how this 92-year-old grandmother is performing the same stunts as a 23-year-old boy. Wearing a green leotard, Quaas performed confidently on parallel bars. Responding to this video, fans praised Quaas for her incredible strength.

Johanna Quaas’s amazing feat

The gymnast performed on parallel bars at the International German gymnastics festival in 2017. Known as the Turnfest, this festival took place from 3rd June to 10th June in 2017. Swinging on the bars, Quaas managed to easily do a handstand without making any mistakes.

Cheered by the crowd for her performance, Quaas was elated and emotional at the same time. After this competition, she opened up about her real purpose of performing gymnastics. “I do gymnastics to avoid being susceptible to falls and that is a good prevention tool. Maybe the day I stop doing gymnastics is the day I die.” Her strength is similar to the world’s oldest bodybuilder, Jim Arrington who was also recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records.
Responding to the gymnastics’ phenomenal stamina in the Instagram video posted by the Olympics, fans gave heartwarming reactions. While various fans complimented Quaas, some fans gave amusing and entertaining responses.

Fans give unexpected and mixed reactions

Several fans compared their health to Quaas’s robustness at the age of 92. A fan admitted, “Grandmother is stronger zhan me.” Later, another fan wrote, “I’m 33 and can’t do what great gramma does.” This depicts how fans are stimulated by Quaas’s unbelievable fitness.
An admiring fan also penned, “Respect. 92 yo and that level of balance and core strength?! Wowww …no words,,,just RESPECT.” Afterwards, another fan commented, “Could not, for one singular second focus on the bottom of the screen. This woman is incredible. I mean, the CORE STRENGTH, insane.” Post this, a fan said, “I don’t know about you guys, but that’s inspiring. If I’m that fit (or around) at 94, I want to be like her.”
Fans’ reactions are proof of how they are motivated and surprised by Quaas’s fitness in this resurfaced video when she performed at the age of 92. The gymnastics veteran’s skills will definitely encourage future athletes to raise the bar and break all barriers to achieve success.
