Remember around last Christmas when Olivia Dunne showed up at a New Jersey Devils game to support her hometown team? And, of course, her lucky charm vibes kicked in just like this year because the Devils came back for a 3–2 win against the Detroit Red Wings at the Prudential Center. But here’s the funny part: Olivia wasn’t exactly a hockey pro at the time. After the game, she posted a TikTok video looking a bit confused and captioned it, “What the puck is going on,” with the text, “Just a baseball girlie trying to understand hockey.” Guess when she was still figuring things out, her team still won!

The “baseball girlie” thing? That’s a nod to Olivia Dunne’s boyfriend, Paul Skenes, who was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2023 after playing college baseball at LSU.  Now, with her final year at LSU ahead, Olivia, fresh off helping her team dominate the previous NCAA season, is gearing up to make a splash again when the NCAA returns to Dickies Arena on April 17th and 19th, 2025. But here’s the kicker: Olivia’s not just sticking to gymnastics, baseball, or hockey. She’s getting involved in all kinds of sports these days!

Olivia Dunne tries to outshine Angel Reese

Olivia Dunne has been doing gymnastics since she was 3, but that’s not all—she also played softball growing up with her older sister, Julz. “She was amazing at it,” Olivia says about her sister. “And she just makes it look really fun.” Last year, Olivia even showed off her softball skills to impress her boyfriend, Paul Skenes. She was having a blast on the field, and to everyone’s surprise, she actually scored a goal! In softball which is almost similar to baseball except that players throw the ball underhanded, Olivia did it perfectly she hit the ball squarely. The story even had the caption, “@lsusoftball put her in.” But please don’t get it twisted, Olivia’s not just about softball.

Back in September, Olivia Dunne and her LSU teammate Haleigh Bryant decided to switch things up and give volleyball a shot. They teamed up with former Tigers and Olympians Kristen Nuss and Taryn Kloth, two absolute legends in beach volleyball to see what they could do. The whole thing turned into a hilarious crossover, with Nuss and Kloth trying their hand at the uneven bars while Olivia and Haleigh attempted to rally a volleyball mid-air before crashing into the foam pit. The fun was all caught on video and shared on the LSU gymnastics Instagram. At one point, Olivia jokingly said, “Confirmed: Haleigh Bryant is good at everything she does,” after the group actually pulled off a decent rally. But surprisingly, Olivia Dunne once tried to outshine Angel Reese by playing basketball!

Earlier this year, Olivia Dunne decided to give basketball a shot at LSU, and honestly, the internet couldn’t get enough. In a viral video, she drained a long-range shot while a friend cheered her on, yelling, “Buckets, all day!” Rocking her LSU gymnastics leotard, she added some flair with a between-the-legs dribble and even tried bouncing two basketballs at once. Sure, her jump shot needed a little work if she was aiming to impress Angel Reese!

Of course, Olivia’s no stranger to MLB, she’s been cheering on her boyfriend, Paul Skenes, for over a year now, and the two are going strong. But she’s also got hometown pride in her DNA. Whether it’s baseball, gymnastics, or her hometown team, Olivia Dunne knows exactly where and when to show her support.
