If you think Simone Biles returning to the Nationals was an act of brilliance, wait till you hear her post-victory speech. More than just an athlete, Simone is known as “the gymnastics GOAT” in popular culture. Although she is without a doubt the greatest all-around athlete of all time, her personality tends to get overlooked in lieu of her athletic limelight. After her “Twisties” episode in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, she also became a strong mental health advocate. Earlier this month, the four-time Olympic gold medalist made a stunning comeback to the U.S. Classic.

As seen by her record-breaking wins, she is a growth seeker in equal measure. Biles won the floor routine, balancing beam, vault, and individual all-around competitions, and successfully landed her signature Yurchenko double pike vault. With her ‘one step at a time’ mindset, she looks at the upcoming Olympics while the internet is still stuck on her words of gratitude.

Simone Biles’ speech reflects true athleticism

Simone has always endured the most pressure due to her position at the very top. She cemented her name in the dynamic era at a very young, and continues to do so upon her return with a perfect 59.100! In addition, she also keeps a practical viewpoint, as seen by her comment shared by @NBCOlympics on their Twitter account. She says,

“My main goal was this and then the championships. And then after that we’ll look on to worlds and then we’ll see. But so far, it’s heading in the right direction. But I still have to work on myself. I’m still going to do my therapy. I’m going to put myself first.”

A simple story of a smooth landing, but it truly has been and continues to be a bumpy ride for Biles. Despite holding onto numerous titles that remained in place during her protracted absence, she has had to deal with haters labeling her as a quitter over the years. She continues to see a therapist once a week, but so far “everything has fallen into place.”

However, since the U.S. Classics were broadcast live, the internet instantly turned to Twitter to inquire, “Wait She Didn’t Win Vault?” She attempted only one vault, although two are needed to finish first. Despite having a superior score for her single vault, she missed the top spot. Biles adopts a mature and modest approach, not allowing herself to be overwhelmed right away while keeping the sequence of events in mind. Now, even though Biles is back on the ground, she doesn’t appear to be in a rush to propel things forward.
