Considering the Pommel Horse scores it was a good start for the US team with Khoi Young and Fred Richard giving their best efforts. However, things looked a little different in the high bars as they were seen struggling a little. Young and Asher Hong had a difficult time competing with others at high bars which portrayed how the world champion Brody Malone’s absence was felt.

With Japan as its rival, it seems like the US team needs to buckle up for the event. They need an almost impossible score of 46.734 to surpass Japan in the final rotation. An Olympic page posted the statistics on Twitter stating, “Team USA would need an impossible 46.734 to pass Japan in the final rotation, but a more do-able 42.699 for second.”
