Olivia Dunne and Sunisa ‘Suni’ Lee are two rising American artistic gymnastics personalities. Though the two are still in their twenties (Lee will turn 20 in March), their net worth is in the millions. Sunisa Lee is the 2022 Olympic all-around champion, which makes her one of the most in-demand gymnasts. Lee is currently a part of the Auburn Tigers women’s gymnastics team.

Olivia ‘Livvy’ Dunne, on the other hand, is a part of the LSU Tigers. Unlike Lee, Dunne hasn’t had much luck to make it to the Olympics. However, she did leave her contemporaries behind in making the big bucks. Compared to the Olympics Champion Suni, Livvy is monetarily worth much more.

How is Livvy’s net worth more than that of Suni?

As of 2022, Olivia Dunne is the highest-paid female college athlete. Her net worth is appropriated to be around $2.3 million. Whereas, Suni Lee’s net worth is around $2 million. These figures make one wonder how a college-level athlete earns more than an Olympic medalist. The answer to this is Dunne’s life outside of the arena.

Lee’s earnings are primarily the prize money and the sponsorship deals she gained because of her victories. They also include some TV show appearances. However, Livvy’s popularity stretches beyond the gymnastics world. Dunne has twice the amount of fan following Lee has on social media. While Suni has 1.7M followers on Instagram, Livvy has 3.5M. Adding to this is her 6.6M fanbase on TikTok.

Her popularity on these platforms helps her attract more attention and strike better deals. Livvy makes $31,000 from a single Instagram post. Whereas, Lee gets $21,000 per post. Though her social media popularity is her major source of income, it is also what has become a source of discomfort for her and the other gymnasts.

Olivia Dunne reprimands her fans

Earlier this year, Olivia Dunne’s popularity became a hindrance not only for the 20-year-old gymnast but the entire gymnastics community. While Livvy was at an event at the Salt City Lake, the venue was crowded with her fans. Videos from the day show her male fans chanting her name in the arena while holding placards with her name.

While normally this moment of fans showing their immense support would have been heartwarming for an entity, this wasn’t the case with Livvy. The young gymnast took to Twitter to subtly reprimand her fans and ask them to maintain decorum. While she appreciated the support, Dunne urged her fans to respect the other gymnasts.

Eventually, her fans realized their mistake and corrected their behavior. With this, Olivia Dunne remains the most popular and highest-paid female athlete.
