Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold have made it to the Dancing with the Stars season 33 finals. The pair’s powerful tango to The Temper Trap’s ‘Sweet Disposition’ earned them a shot at winning the ultimate prize. However, thanks to the Olympian’s glasses, Nedoroscik and Arnold’s hard work to pull off the semifinal-winning dance routine could’ve gone down the drain.

During the initial phase of their routine, the 25-year-old’s glasses started to come off. During one of the moves, Arnold’s arm brushed against the glasses, nearly knocking them off. While Nedoroscik tried to fix it, to no avail. “Well, I immediately tried to fix them as I was doing the dance moves,” said the Olympic bronze medalist.

However, after several dancing routines, Nedoroscik knew he had to focus on the dance routine, not the glasses. So, the Worcester native carried on with crooked glasses. However, the 19-year-old pro’s quick thinking saved the routine as she subtly chucked the spectacles off Stephen Nedoroscik’s face. The move was so slick it felt like a sleight of hand.

“I saw them, and I was like, ‘They’re either going to be on the floor or I’m ripping them off of his face right now!'” Rylee Arnold said in an interview with Access Hollywood after their performance. While the DWTS pro was upset about the mishap, she also felt good about how the gymnast kept his cool despite the blunder.

Arnold told Access Hollywood she felt it was a “triumphant” moment. “Stephen, I’m so proud of you, you did not skip a beat,” the dancer told the double Olympic bronze medalist. Making the finale was also a dream come true for Stephen Nedoroscik’s partner. Arnold described the feeling as “surreal” and something she “can’t even put into words” in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. However, the gymnastics icon isn’t the only Olympian who made it to the Season 33 finale.

Stephen Nedoroscik and Ilona Maher: The Olympians reign supreme

While Nedoroscik has purposefully thrown off his glasses on the DWTS, Rylee Arnold ripping them off during the tango was an unplanned move. However, it wasn’t the only highlight of the DWTS semifinals. The 25-year-old’s fellow USA teammate and rugby seven icon, Ilona Maher, also dazzled the audience with her dance routines.

Maher, who came in with no dancing experience like Stephen Nedorisck, has improved immensely. Maher and Alan Bersten’s Paso Doble won the audience and judges’ hearts. “I think America really got to see how much Ilona’s improved. How confident she is… Just how special she is,” Bersten told Access Hollywood after the show.

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba echoed a similar sentiment in her words. “You are the one who has come the furthest in this competition,” said Inaba after witnessing Maher dance to Sam Smith’s Unholy. The Olympic bronze medalist took Inaba’s words to heart. “I might not be the best dancer, but I am improving every week, and that’s what this show is about,” she told GMA.

So, from Stephen Nedoroscik’s save to Ilona Maher’s constant improvements, it’s safe to say the Olympians stole the show during the semifinals. Now they’ll face off one more time during the finals at 7 p.m. MST on Tuesday, September 26.
