The Bruins could boast of having 24 NCAA Regional laurels. However, the last on that list came in 2019. Last time, the gymnastics squad ended their routine with a second-place finish in Pauley Pavilion. So, this time, the Bruins’ fans expected a better finish compared to the past 5-year’s results. UCLA fails to uplift their NCAA Gymnastics Regionals

In NCAA Gymnastics Regionals, the UCLA women’s gymnastics squad was handed a close defeat by the Denver and Arizona State duo last night. The Berkeley occasion was the second round of the gymnastics battle, where two teams could qualify for the Sunday final. However, as the X-post made by UCLA Gymnastics handled after the match, the scoreboard displays UCLA, stopping just 0.1 points behind the second-place finish. That unwanted blow sent a tremor throughout the stakeholders of the squad.

Just a week ago, the same squad stopped at the runner-up position in the Pac-12 Championships as well. So those back-to-back championship defeats did not fit well with the supporters. Soon, the fans gathered in the comment box to display their emotion. The X-handle, KD demanded a holistic change. The handle penned down, “For the love of god, someone change UCLA culture to be a team of handling pressure and being prepared when it matters.”As per the X-handle, Brody, it should come through changing the program’s support structure. On that, he commented, “The coaching staff needs to pack their BAGS”. That heated up the discussion as several more fans joined in the debate.

The coaching staff bears the brunt

In the brewing discussion, the fans went after the support staff for the spree of defeats in recent times. So after Brody, the X-handle, TheReadingRainbow echoed the same statement. The handle’s comment went, “This isn’t on the athletes a big part of this is on the coaching staff”. Moreover, the followers started thinking about the problem brimming in the stakeholders’ mindset.

The X-handle, yuyuan’s amanar claimed, “This isn’t a confident team that can handle these difficult constructions under pressure”. But in the dearth of such criticism, there came along some positive words as well. The X-handle of veeeeforvanessa expressed, “We’re also sad about the results but still SO proud of everything that has been accomplished. We love the bruins!” Moreover, the X-handle. sam shared the post with a needful quote. It says, “let’s reevaluate for next year please”.
