Olivia Dunne might be a sweetheart for all of America, but she, too, is protective of her boyfriend! Dunne crossed paths with her baseball player boyfriend, Paul Skenes, while studying at LSU. While Dunne went on to create ripples in the gymnastics community, Skenes was also not far behind. He established himself as an impressive baseball player and now, Skenes is one of the mainstays of his MLB team, the Pittsburgh Pirates. 

For a long time, rumors were circulating about the possible romantic angle of the duo. However, it was not until August 2023 that Dunne finally accepted the relationship via an interview with the Pittsburg Post-Gazette. And now that they are dating, it seems Dunne does not want anyone else to come near her boyfriend. 

Olivia Dunne shuns down fan’s request of “having” Paul Skenes

As the MLB season is coming closer, it is not only the athletes who are getting ready but also their partners. At least, Paul Skenes’ partner is. In a recently uploaded video on TikTok, Olivia Dunne was spotted to be in a jovial mood ahead of the MLB season. The 21-year-old gymnastics sensation started off the video by grabbing a couple of jerseys, which had Skenes and Dunne’s names printed on the back. Interestingly, both the jerseys had the identical number of 1. 

Dunne captioned the post, “When someone says it’s officially baseball szn.” However, things took an intense turn when one of the fans in the comment box went ahead and took a liking towards Paul Skenes. She requested Dunne to have Paul Skenes by saying, “can i have your boyfriend pleasee hes so fine.” Such a comment put off Dunne, and she immediately shut the fan’s absurd request by commenting, “The switch up is crazy.” 

Earlier in the video, the former LSU star was also seen wearing baseball gloves, expressing her enthusiasm to support her partner this season. While Dunne may have openly confessed her affection towards her partner, she also revealed why she chose Paul Skenes as her boyfriend last year.

Back in November 2023, Olivia Dunne seemingly disclosed the reason for choosing Paul Skenes as her boyfriend. In one of her TikTok posts, Dunne uploaded three of her pictures, each bearing a separate caption. All of her snaps contained different expressions that aligned with the captions the post was bearing.

The three captions read, “He’s popular”, “He’s cute”, “He only has a soft spot for you.” It was interpreted that these were the exact reasons that made Olivia Dunne fall in love with the MLB pitcher. Meanwhile, as Skenes is riding high on confidence after his partner’s support, he would look forward to having a blast this season and repay the faith vested in him by Olivia Dunne.
