When the LSU Tigers dominate their opponents, Olivia Dunne doesn’t like to stay too far away from the action. While her teammate Haleigh Bryant barged into NCAA gymnastics on Friday, Dunne didn’t fair too badly herself. With 198.425 on the scoresheet, the Tigers walked away from the Podium Challenge as the winners, and Dunne was a primal force whose performances were at the helm of things in Baton Rouge.

After a brilliant display of skills against Auburn, Dunne stayed away from competing against Florida and Alabama over the last couple of weeks. While her post-match recovery routine made Dunne’s fans exclaim their awe, she understandably was itching to get back on the mat. The latest quad meet saw the national sensation make a comeback, and how!

Olivia Dunne had two appearances last night, and she made sure to make the most of both opportunities. Dunne’s display of skills on the floor has been phenomenal all season, and it didn’t falter at the Quad meet either. The fourth rotation saw the LSU Tigers hand the opening duties to Dunne, and the 21-year-old didn’t disappoint at all. Her 9.900 routine floored the audience and the official LSU Gymnastics Twitter account had to nod its hat to Dunne.

The accompanying image shows an enigmatic Olivia in the middle of her routine, looking graceful, while also exuding confidence. That would eventually help the Tigers secure the first spot against their three opponents.

If Olivia’s season-high of 9.90 was the highlight of the day, her time on the bars wasn’t too shabby either. Dunne didn’t go on the bars all season, but that didn’t taint her skills. Registering a staggering 9.875 on her first bar routine of the season, the Baton Rouge native made her NCAA intentions clear. However, she wasn’t the only gymnast to woo fans.

LSU Tigers run riot

LSU’s Haleigh Bryant has been hailed as one of the top senior gymnasts in the country, and last night proved once again exactly why. With an impressive 39.925 all-around score, Bryant made the Podium Challenge her own. Haleigh also bagged two perfect 10 scores on the vault and the bars, paving her way into the coveted club of gym slam. While Bryant became the 10th gymnast to achieve the feat in a single season, several other LSU gymnasts also picked up career-high moments throughout the big occasion at the Raising Cane’s River Center.
