Jordan Chiles has accomplished milestones in her career at a very young age. The college gymnast who captivated the audience after taking Simone Biles‘ place in the Tokyo Olympics has etched her name in the history of gymnastics forever. However, in addition to winning silver, the UCLA gymnast is following Simone Biles’s footsteps and aiming for the Sulivan Award this year.

After a staunch season, this year Chiles is one step away from winning the 93rd Sullivan Award and joining Simone Biles Recently, the gymnast also posted an Instagram story requesting her fans to vote for her.

Jordan Chiles is up for the 93rd Sullivan award

On Sunday, Jordan Chiles reposted an Instagram story of her mother with the caption, “It’s me again—please vote today!”  requesting her fans to vote for her today. The athlete had posted her Sullivan Award semifinal poster, showcasing Chiles smiling while holding her medals. The Sullivan Awards are annual awards given since 1930 and are represented by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) to honor amateur athletes with extraordinary achievements. In 2020,  Simone Biles received the award after showcasing top-tier skills and in September Chiles will also most likely join her best friend in the awardee list.

Jordan Chiles, who had an amazing season this year with Pac-12 conference titles on uneven bars and eight all-American honors, is up against College baseball player Maya Brady for this honor. With stats of .456, Maya Brady struck magic on the field this year. Brady also won the American softball collegiate player of the year and is currently in second place in the Pac-12 with 18 dingers. However, besides competing for this honor, Jordan Chiles is also looking forward to the big games next year. Last year, the athlete got her ticket to Paris in 2024.

After bagging the silver medal for the US at the Tokyo Olympics, Jordan Chiles revealed in an interview that she wanted to perform better. And last year, the gymnast got another chance at the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024 after competing in the 2022 World Championship in Liverpool. Chiles competed against Rebeca Andrade and Flavia Saravia for her ticket and also secured the silver medal on the mat. To strike gold in Paris, the athlete has also decided to train extensively in Texas next year.

Chiles is a work of force who fuels her passion for gymnastics by learning from other gymnasts every day. As the athlete revealed in her podcast “Chicks Unfiltered Podcast” all the gymnasts around her inspire her athlete every day. Hopefully, in her 2024 Paris journey, the athlete will be joined by other gymnasts who inspire her, which includes her best friend Simone Biles.
