Gymnastics champion Jordan Chiles is up for the Sullivan Award

NCAA gymnast Jordan Chiles is up for one of the most prestigious amateur athlete awards. The Olympic athlete has made it to the final round of nominations for the 93rd Sullivan Award. The Sullivan Awards are almost 100-year-old annual awards given to talented amateur athletes who have soared to success in their respective sports. This award is presented by the Amateur Athletic Union (AUU). Jordan Chiles has reached the final round of the highly prestigious award and has requested that her fans vote for her. The athlete, who is stoked for the honor, reposted a poster of her nomination by UCLA Gymnastics with the caption “AHHHHHH!!! I’m so excited” on her Instagram story.

The athlete also shared the poster on Instagram with the caption “Jordan Chiles is now a finalist for the AAU James E. Sullivan Award as the nation?s most outstanding amateur athlete.”?Further, the caption also asked the viewers to vote for the gymnast once a day until August 16 at 8:59 p.m.

The gymnast who has shown incredible performances on the Uneven bars, in case of winning the award, will join her best friend Simone Biles on the honorary list. In 2020, Olympic gymnast Simone Biles was co-awarded the 91st Sullivan Award with Olympic swimmer Caeleb Dressel. This honorary update came only a few days after Jordan Chiles shared the stage with Simone Biles at the US Classics.

Best friends share the stage at the US classics

After a highly anticipated comeback, the queen of gymnastics, Simone Biles, finally joined best friend Jordan Chiles at the US Classics. Chiles, who has already secured her ticket to Paris, maintained her form on her specialty, uneven bars. The athlete finished off the classics by scoring a 13.9 on the uneven bars and securing the fourth position. The gymnast also scored 12.8 on the balance beam. On the other hand, Biles after her comeback scored 59.100 in the all-around event held in Chicago.
