The forthcoming 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships are the prime focus for the gymnastics world. Simone Biles, who finished on top of the all-around tally on all national events after her comeback, could lead the American senior women’s team at Antwerp’s Sportpaleis. While the 7X Olympic medalist will look to continue her fine form and punch her ticket to Paris, her coach, Cecile Landi, will look to leave no stone unturned in preparation. However, as the gymnastics event draws closer, the Frenchwoman showcased the beauty of sport.

Simone Biles’ coach may have been keeping an eye on the competition at the last FIG World Challenge Cup of the 2023 season. After witnessing her compatriot’s routine, the 45-year-old coach lauded her 23-year-old student.

Artistic gymnastics fans are on edge as they watch the elite gymnasts compete at the last FIG World Challenge Cup of the 2023 season. Taking place at the Bercy Arena in France, the Challenge Cup will give the final list of gymnasts going to the Worlds. Keeping up with the event, Biles’ WCC French gymnastics coach Cecile Landi took to her Instagram and added a story reposting the @intlgymnast video. She captioned it, “Bravo bravo bravo” with four gold medal emojis cheering for Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos.

The events went underway on September 16, where the best eight finishers from each apparatus advanced to Sunday’s finals. It was Mélanie’s first all-around event in 10 months following her knee surgery last December. The gymnast relocated to Houston in April 2022 and has been coached by the Landi duo, who also trains Simone Biles.

In the US Open in Chicago, Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos obtained a total of 56.200 points (as an exhibition competitor), just behind Biles with 59.00. Before beginning the last stretch leading up to the Worlds, she flew back to France at the beginning of September to compete in the French Open in Paris.

She is all set to qualify for the World Championships, which will be held from September 30 to October 8 in Antwerp, a qualifier for the Olympic Games in Paris. The French team member looks well-prepared and could be a threat to Biles and Co. But how does the situation appear for the American gymnastics team?
