However, aside from the couple, the gymnast also celebrated her joy with her best friend, Nastia Liukin.

On July 14, Nastia Liukin posted a photo collage with her best friend Shawn Johnson on Twitter with the caption “ESPYS, 2023.” In the pictures, Shawn was seen wearing a gorgeous turquoise dress, while best friend Liukin posed in a sparkling pink dress. The athletes also shared a group picture with their partners, Andrew East and Ben Weyand.

Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson competed in the 2008 Olympics, where the Russian-born gymnast grabbed the gold and Shawn secured silver in the all-around event. Since then, the two athletes have become close friends and seem to share a lovely bond. In 2020, Liukin, in the podcast “The Players Pod with Kelley OHara” talking about her friendship with Johnson, stated, “We’re inseparable; we are best friends.”
