Gage Kile channeling his inner Simone Biles for the US championships

An Iowa native, teenage gymnast named Gage Kile has already made his name in the gymnastics world. The 16-year-old is the only gymnast under the age of 18 to do a triple backflip successfully on the floor. According to Kile, he started doing the backflip on a trampoline and after some time the athlete started to practice on the mat and the pit.

After so much practice the athlete was able to master the move. While talking about his historical move on the floors, in an interview with We Are Iowa, Kile stated, “I had to wait after nationals to try it, and I did it and I landed it on the second try.”

Following this staunch achievement, the athlete is going on a bigger stage to show off his skills. The athlete will be channeling his inner Simone Biles and will be making a debut with a new vault at US Championship. Kile with his new vault move will again create history by doing the exercise with the highest difficulty of any Junior Gymnast. The championship will be held on August 24-27 in San Jose, California. Amid these steps in his career, the athlete’s coach Spencer Johnson also wants the athlete to focus on what’s really important to becoming a great gymnast.

Focusing on what is important

In the middle of creating history and participating in the US championship, Kile’s coach Spencer Johnson is making sure he is focusing on every detail. The coach wants the 16-year-old to become a top-notch gymnast while handling big tricks on the mat. Johnson was not even fully ready to let Cage make such a move on the floor. However, after witnessing his student forever etch his name in history, he stated, “I couldn’t believe it.” The owner of Emerge Academy told the media that it’s not something that can be taught. According to Johnson, who thinks he himself couldn’t have done it at Kile’s age, said that a gymnast can get strong and flexible, but practicing this move is truly rare.
