Simone Biles has officially earned her GOAT title. The seven-time Olympic medalist did so by earning her 6th individual all-around title at the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, setting a new record for the most Olympic and World gold medals won by any gymnast in history, men and women combined. Beyond all glitters and glory, Biles’s commitment to the discipline is not without sacrifices.

Coinciding with the global event was another special occasion back home in Houston. Meanwhile, the winningest gymnast, stationed in Belgium, had a huge miss, as hinted by her sister Adria’s IG update.

Simone Biles misses bestie’s most special week

If you know Simone, you may know her childhood pal Rachel Moore. For what feels like an eternity, the best of friends have had each other’s back. As the gymnastics buddy made a podium finish, Rachel had last cheered with her husband. The glasses were custom-made to suit the wedding theme for the day.

Adria, Simone’s younger sister, was in attendance and shared an Instagram story from the picturesque location with three friends, captioned “wedding tingssss,” with a cheering wine glass emoji. Adria wore a lovely blue dress with a deep neckpiece and side-parted locked braids. The beautiful bride Rachel donned a deep plungeline sleeveless wedding gown and walked hand in hand with her husband during the post-wedding gathering. The internet was swamped with media drops with Moore’s loved ones, something Biles would have done too. Moore who has always been the biggest supporter of Biles would have dearly missed her best friend on her big day.

Going back in time, with the bond the two share, Biles had written in her book, ‘Courage to Soar: A Body in Motion, A Life in Balance on Rachel Moore being her support system and said “At Bannon’s, if I started getting really hyper, Rachel was the one who’d settle me down and tell me to focus. And she and her mom often drove hundreds of miles to cheer me on at gymnastics competitions.” Moore ensured to be there for her best friend at both her difficult times and the good ones.

Even when Biles got engaged to Jonathan Owens, Moore was her all-time cheerleader, being there for her best friend from the Bachelorette party to their fancy wedding at Cabo. Biles however is not one to forget or miss special occasions of her dear ones, and interestingly, the gymnast didn’t miss all of her bestie Rachel Moore’s celebrations.

Simone is an all-arounder even off-mat and performed her due duty in celebrating the pre-wedding rites. The gymnast attended her bridal shower and even shared glimpses from the in-house celebration attended by close friends. The updates featured a beautifully decorated table with a lemon on a dish labeled “Simone”, and a vase filled with sunflowers and white flowers.

Biles even coined the term “found her main squeeze” for Rachel’s man. The matron of honor wore a pink asymmetric ruffled gown and despite the sparkling setting and well-dressed girls missed the main day. However, Moore showed love for her friend in her story and seemed super proud of her achievement.
