Finally fulfilling her dream of a destination wedding in Cabo, Mexico, Simone Biles enjoyed herself to the fullest. However, this joy was marred as the hectic wedding preparations took a toll on her health. Hours before the wedding ceremony with Jonathan Owens, Biles felt unwell. Revealing how this made her feel anxious, the gymnastics champion held nothing back.

At this moment, Biles sought the comfort of her mother Nellie Biles who gave her strength before the important ceremony. Vogue Weddings shared Biles’s intriguing admissions about her wedding day in a recent Instagram post.

Simone Biles unforgettable wedding day

Dressed in a gorgeous white gown with flowers and pearls, Biles held her mother’s hand and closed her eyes. Trying to gain composure before the ceremony, Biles disclosed, “I actually felt so sick the entire day, and when it was almost time to walk, my heart was beating out of my chest. I’ve never been so nervous before in my life.” 

Despite this, Biles walked confidently down the aisle where she saw Owens waiting for her. Describing the magical atmosphere, she revealed,  “Our guests were cheering for everyone.” Expressing how she was moved by the guests’ love for her, she added, “The ceremony was so beautiful and dreamy!”

This is not the only time the star gymnast has indicated her anxiety before her destination wedding. Earlier, Biles also recounted how she was hesitant about the wedding gown she selected for the wedding.

Simone Biles opens up about the stylish wedding gown she purchased

The star gymnast related how she was nervous about the gown she had selected from Galia Lahav in Los Angeles. She further implied that since she was “petite” and ball gowns usually have long slits, she was unsure whether the gown would look good on her.

Despite her reservations, the gown fitted her perfectly and she loved how she looked in the gown. She also realized how keeping the slit high in the gown made her look tall. Further, she elaborated on how the gown made her feel “on top of the world.”
