With Simone Biles on the gymnastics floor, there is always a future prospect in sight. The season kicked off with an absolute banger by the 26-year-old Olympian gymnast vying for her all-around title. After reclaiming her power position she stepped into the mats one last time before the World Championship beginning October 1.

Sweeping the top spot with her eponymous vault skill, the eighth all-around victor secured an automatic qualification to Worlds yesterday. On the final day, the gymnast got back to the gymnastics scene wearing confidence making some candid confessions.

Winning the US national championships last month was only the tip of the iceberg for Simone Biles. She kept her mood rather humble in a TikTok video posted just hours before the Worlds’ roster line-up was announced today.

Biles recorded a get-ready-with-me session with a guest appearance made by Zoe Miller. Having a candid talk with the camera as she fixed her highlight, she said, “I don’t know which routine I am most nervous for…I feel like floor.”

Waking from her power nap after practice, Biles began setting her loose powder, and contour, finishing with the highlight as she discussed her reaction to the YPD controversy update. She was enthused about having the option to wear any one of the previous year’s US Team leotards. Unable to wear her favourite leo from 2013 since it had discontinued the sponsor’s logo, she picked the 2019 leo.

Biles even counted her decade-long journey as an elite gymnast counting all the years she has participated in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018, and 2019. Keeping her fans updated with her legacy, Biles points out she will be returning to Belgium after a decade next month securing her Worlds all-around quota seat.

Simone Biles’s wobbly landings to Worlds

At the top of the AA charts lies Biles, the gymnast making her historic journey to Worlds. Similar to the unfortunate turn of events in the Tokyo Olympics, Biles experienced a fall in rotation 1 of Day 1 on uneven bars. A relatively clean routine with the double wolf turns while facing a touch shaky. Before climbing back up and concluding the day with a 14.550 on the vault, her fear on Day 2 was obvious after a failed over-rotation in the YDP.

She got up with a smile, only to conclude the day being the lead Worlds gymnast exactly how she entered the international event from nationals. Turning the 2023 Worlds selection day tally in her favor, Biles continues to deny all odds as the oldest American gymnast this season in more than fifty years!
