Over the years, many trailblazers stepped onto the mats, but only a select handful left an everlasting imprint. With 30 Worlds medals and a total of 37 Worlds and Olympic titles, Simone Biles is one such inspirational tale. Her competitive reputation took a knock after a second sabbatical (first in 2017) in 2021 post withdrawals citing mental health. She bounced back to take the lead as America won its seventh team gold iat the 2023 World Gymnastics Championship. After the podium finish, Biles’ coach Cecile Landi called her “super gifted” and “hardest worker.”
Simone’s routines look more polished since her debut in Antwerp, Belgium, when she won four medals a decade ago. Now, as the most prominent senior on the world circuit, she has encouraged many individuals both on and off the mats. One such artistic display went viral recently after an imitated routine left Biles in awe.

Simone Biles praises her maneuvering fan
Four days back, the reigning all-around Biles returned to the stage at the Worlds hosted in Sportpaleis for the floor final following an intense beam final. The Americans were taken aback at her leaps, while she prevailed with a score of 14.633.
The next day, professional dancer, Jonah Glickman shared an almost similar floor routine performance on his Twitter (X) account. He captioned it, “icon. legend. moment. Simone biles? 2023 floor routine,” uploading his and Biles comparative videos. Simone reposted the tweet on her account and wrote, “ATE & LEFT NO CRUMBS(with star emoji)” next time we?ll tag team, you dance & I tumble haha.“

The floor routine is her strongest skill since she turned a senior, which was also the last event to secure a medal. She put on a show of the highest caliber, executing a full-twisting double layout, double-double, and a series of forward leaps. Finally, the hop back coupled with the Double layout ended the show.

Moments before finishing her floor routine, 2022 all-around Rebeca Andrade bounced off the mat, she lost her gold medal, albeit only by three-tenths of a point. Her compatriot Flavia Saraiva took bronze with 13.966 points. Two years after her twisties incident during the Tokyo Olympics, Biles ended the event becoming the most decorated gymnast in history. What was even more historic was her all-around event which made her emotional.

Simone Biles’ all-around at Worlds
Biles executed each skill nearly flawlessly, and the difference in the final score was barely discernible. While Biles’s all-around performance was affected by a wobble, she recovered nicely, and it didn’t cost her enough points to keep the gold away from her. At the world championships, she won her sixth all-around title on Friday, adding to her victories in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018, and 2019.
After the event, Biles teared up and later recalled saying, ?10 years ago, I won my first worlds. Now we?re back here. So it was emotional.?? She added, ?It means everything to me, the fight, everything that I?ve put in to get back to this place, feel comfortable and confident enough to compete.?
