For the gymnast, it was every sports figure that openly spoke about it. “From Simone to Serena Williams to Naomi Osaka to even Michael Jordan when people really didn’t know that he was truly talking about it,” Chiles remarks.

One of these has been the outer view surrounding her body image. A concern she has outgrown to shed light and inspire. “I’m not the typical gymnast you see every day,” she says. Just knowing that as a gymnast, not everything is going to be perfect. It’s okay if you fail. It’s okay if you have those times where you doubt yourself because at the end it’s only going to make you stronger.”
