On June 24th, the Supreme Court of the United States of America officially reversed Roe v. Wade case, declaring that the constitutional right to abortion, upheld for nearly a half-century, no longer exists.

And while the country celebrates independence on the fourth of July, women like Simone Biles are using their social media platforms to raise their voices.

Joining a long list of female celebrities enraged at the Supreme Court ruling, the gymnastics GOAT?Simone Biles?shared an Instagram post by iconic singer and songwriter Alicia Keys on her?story. The post states in simple white font over a pink backdrop,??4th of July Has been canceled Due to lack of independence. Sincerely, Women.?

This is not the first time Biles has expressed her disappointment with the lawmakers. From the moment the ruling was announced, she has been active on Twitter,?sharing?tweets that compare the country’s gun control laws with its views on women?s body autonomy. She has also shared tweets that highlight the healthcare implications of abortion.
She?wrote?on the 25th,??I need to stay off twitter before I start speaking my mind forreal.??Biles also responded to a comment denying abortion as a constitutional right,?saying,??baby the constitution was written in 1787, grow up.??And the four-time Olympic champion isn?t the only celebrity using her platform to criticize the ruling.
Women band together to stand against the overruling of the Roe vs Wade case
In the last couple of days, several female personalities have highlighted the juxtaposition of celebrating the country?s independence after they have forced women to give up body autonomy. Kim Kardashian shared a similar graphic on her?story, along with ‘Succession’ star J. Smith-Cameron, who posted it on her?feed.

Actor Jessica Chastain took to Twitter to express her discontent,?writing,??Happy ?Independence? Day from me and my reproductive rights.? Katy Perry also?tweeted,???Baby you?re a firework? is a 10, but women in the US have fewer rights than an actual sparkler smh.?
Another popular name on the silver screen, Zooey Deschanel posed wearing a t-shirt that says, ?Pro Roe 1973? and shared the picture on Instagram,?writing,??For when you want to wish America a happy birthday, but also want her to do better.??
