Ever since she entered the elite division, Simone Biles has been breaking records and pushing the boundaries of the sport. She began her journey in the sport at age 6 and immediately started astonishing her coaches.
Biles is the most decorated gymnast in World Champion history, and she earned that title just a couple of years into her senior career in 2015. It’s a treat to watch her perform her extremely difficult skills in person. But the one person who can’t witness her dominance is Biles herself.

Simone Biles competes leagues ahead of her peers
In 2016, Simone Biles went to her first Olympic Games in Rio and set the arena on fire. She came home with five medals, four golds, and a bronze, and set an American record for most gold medals in women’s gymnastics at a single Games. Naturally, she felt anxious about what came next for her.
“Coming back, I was really nervous if I could top my 2016 performances,” Biles told USA Today. She took a break from competition in 2017, instead participating in the American reality TV series Dancing with the Stars. But surprising herself, she came back even better than before.

The whole world watched Simone Biles’ skill on every screen as she dominated her field with the surety that comes with being the GOAT. But it can never compare to the experience of witnessing the gymnast in motion from the stands.
Unfortunately for the seven-time Olympic medalist, she’d never be able to have that opportunity. And she knows what a loss that is. “I wish I could have an out-of-body experience to witness it because sometimes I think I’m going crazy,” she said. “I really don’t know how I do it sometimes.”
