If there’s any athlete who has gone through the worst and still came out strong, it’s perhaps Simone Biles. She is the proof that accolades and glory mean nothing if there’s something eating you up from the inside. Moreover, it’s not just her life that she changed, but the gymnastics legend became an inspiration for millions of people. She became a voice for all those who were struggling with mental health turmoils but weren’t confident enough to choose themselves over everything else in life.

Talking about her withdrawal from the Tokyo Olympics will always break a nerve for Simone Biles. However, her decision doesn’t represent walking away, rather, it portrays a brave and courageous act that’ll be her legacy forever.

Simone Biles answered a tough question
The four-time Olympic gold medalist has been away from gymnastics since the Tokyo Games. However, there’s still a part of her that gets triggered by the thought of it. Sadly, a fan triggered that nerve and Biles had to express the pain and remorse she had been feeling over the years.

She said, “I didn’t leave the Olympics early? I stayed the entire time supporting the team. Do I wish it happened differently? Eeh maybe but I TRULY believe everything happens for a reason. I’m still in therapy trying to cope with a lot of things that have happened throughout career and life.”
Biles admits that she also has some happy memories of. Her career as well
Like any other individual’s life, Simone Biles’ career was filled with ups and downs. While some memories still haunt her, there are some that she is happy to relive in her mind.
She said, “2016 was the most amazing timeframe of my life. But sadly enough it’s become such a trigger for me lately. Like I said, I don’t think it’s just the Olympics. I think it’s been an assortment of things.”

The past was both cruel and rewarding for Biles. However, with time, she learned to live with whatever she went through. Perhaps that’s the utmost trait of greatness. Hence, the gymnastics legend is indeed greatness personified.
